The Real Stories of Mixed Martial Arts
Adventuring to the End of a Legendary Campaign
Two amazing things happened in May of this year.
1) I got to travel to the beautiful San Juan Islands, just off the coast of Washington State.
2) I interviewed two of the most influential and reclusive game developers in history, Ken and Roberta Williams.
Their company, Sierra On-Line, made the adventure game genre one of the most popular in video games, and at their peak they were responsible for more than half of all games sold in the market.
Then Sierra went away. And we wanted to tell the full story.
Together, with my co-executive producers Will Perkins and Cade Peterson, we created a crowdfunding campaign on BackerKit to raise the production budget for a feature documentary about Sierra On-Line, and we were able to harness the energy and excitement of legions of Sierra fans to power us past our initial goal in record time.
We’re excited to bring you the complete and in-depth story of Sierra On-Line like it’s never been told before!

Streaming to a Curriculum Near You!
Who didn't love when your teacher would wheel in a TV and put on a movie? My favourite - watching "Canadian Bacon" in Canadian History class. It's an important piece of our national fabric!
So you can imagine my excitement when I learned that OUR movie just became one of those movies.
The University at Albany, SUNY's Esports & the Digital Gaming Ecosystem course now includes "Living the Stream", our documentary about the wild and unbelievable world of professional Twitch streaming, as part of its curriculum.
We made the film for everyone on the outside looking in, who wanted to know what Twitch was all about but needed an easily-digestible entry point. And in the process, we learned a lot ourselves and met a ton of amazing entertainers!
And if you haven't seen it, in honour of back-to-school week and watching movies instead of doing homework, here’s a link.

Up Close and Virtual with Broken Spectre
Is this game the future of immersive storytelling?
Broken Spectre is a cosmic horror adventure game developed with the creators of the Blair Witch Project that uses hand-tracking VR to put the player in the character's skin.
I had a blast talking to the entire Games by Stitch team and working with my friends at CONTINUE on this behind-the-scenes look at how they pulled it off!
